To me the most powerful How to be Patient Quote is this:

The Art of Being Patient is Doing Something Else in The Meantime

It works for me every time especially at mealtimes when the kids take ages to eat. Instead of yelling at them, I would leave my seat after I have finished eating, sit myself promptly at the piano and start playing.

I get to practice piano, the house is filled with beautiful piano music, there is no yelling and no impatience.

Try this patience quote. It really works.... especially if you have to wait around impatiently for young kids!

I came across this site with Quotes for Kids by Kids.

Some of the quotes are really cute and tells a lot of how and what kids are thinking. I like these few Quotes for Kids about Moms. :)

"If mom's not  happy, nobody's happy"

"If mom's asleep, don't wake her up!"

"If mom says no, she means it. If dad says no, he means maybe"

"No matter what I do, my mom can always tell when I'm lying"

"When mom is mad at dad, don't let her brush your hair"

Funny, cute and smart kids. I think they got it all right. For more funny Quotes for Kids like this, visit generationterrorist.com

Are you a procrastinator? Do you keep on procrastinating? Do you keep on putting off the things you need to do? Procrastination is a bad habit and it has a snowball effect. Very soon, you will start feeling overwhelmed especially if the thing you are procrastinating happens to be in your to do list.

I guess it all boils down to how much you want to do that something. I would never procrastinate when it comes to blogging. I walk around with ideas for blog posts in my head. As soon as I am able to get to a computer, my blog posts would all pour out from my head onto the keyboard and transferred on the computer screen.

However, when it comes to exercise, which is so much more important and should therefore be the top of my priorities, I keep on procrastinating. I guess to stop procrastinating, one has to prioritize, create schedules and follow it strictly. Self discipline is very important in order to carry this out.

Here are some procrastination quotes I want to remember to help me get out of this bad habit.
"If you want to make an easy job seem mighty hard, just keep putting off doing it."
~Olin Miller”
"Procrastination is something best put off until tomorrow."
~Gerald Vaughan
"Whilst we deliberate how to begin a thing, it grows too late to begin it."
~Quintillain

Be Happy and Make Others Happy

Today I added a Quotes Widget on this blog.

Bloggers who love quotes will love this one. It is a quotes widget for your blog or website. The above quote and image is an example of what you get in the quotes widget. There are plenty of sites offering free blogger or wordpress widgets with quotes for your blog but I like this one because it is colorful. Some of the sites offer text quote widgets. This one includes colorful images.

You can customize the widget by changing the size to fit your blog. Mine is 210 by 210. I guess I will keep this Quotes Widget for a while until I find something better.

Bloggers who love quotes may also like these Quotes for Bloggers about Blogging.

Happy Blogging!

Do you like my motivational poster? I created it from this website called Clip Your Photos. There are many Make Your Own Poster sites. I like this one because it is simple to use and does not require me to register. I am quite often lazy to register even for free because it will leave a trail of my email information all over the web for services which I may only use occasionally.

You can customize your Motivational Poster by putting in your own words as I did. You can choose the color and font type. Some Make your own motivational poster sites allow you to print your own customized motivational poster after you're done.

I just like to paste mine on my own blog because my digital camera isn't all that great and my image is a bit blur as you can see. It wouldn't make a nice motivational poster for hanging on the wall in my home though it looks lovely here on my blog and I do feel quite proud about it. Proud about selecting the right photo and proud about adding in the right words even if the words may sound a little bit cliched. I think the saying and the image is perfect. It looks great. Accept for the slightly blurry image. I have got a sharper image result in some other Create your own Motivational Poster sites but perhaps my picture is not clear enough to begin with.

There may be other Create Your Own Motivational Poster websites which offer much more customization and better photo results, but for me, this basic and simple one will do because I don't want to print it. I just want something quick and easy that will generate a code for me to copy and paste on my blog.

Now about my quote:

There is beauty all around, all you need to do is look.

Although my picture is that of a scenery, in this case, man-made and not nature. I usually like to associate quotes and sayings with peaceful pictures of nature scenes. This picture is the one I took when I visited i-City, Shah Alam, Malaysia. There can be beauty in things that are man-made too.

Similarly, I think this quote applies to people too. There are all sorts of people in this world. Some are quiet. Some are loud and aggressive but if you look harder and closer, you may sometimes find a warm core or center in these personalities.

The saying "Never Judge a Book by Its Cover" comes to mind. Sometimes people behave in certain ways to mask or hide their own insecurities and fears but if you look harder and get to know the person more, you may just find that there is beauty in the person. All you need to do is look.

Myspace Love Graphics Quotes

I found this Love Quote on RomanticJoys.com

It reads:

Love, The More you Give, The More You Get Back..... That's The Way Love Works.

How true isn't it? I've always wanted to have a lot of children for this reason because the more children you have, the more unconditional love will fill your home.

You can find many other Love Quotes there to paste on your blog or website. I like them because they are pretty, colorful, glitters and animated but most of all, I like the love quotes.

Other Love Quotes you can find there include:

"True Love, It Never Dies, It Only Gets Stronger with Time"

"Love is like a Mountain, Hard to Climb, but once you get there, the View is Beautiful"

There are several other love quotes graphics like these for your blog on RomanticJoys.com. You only have to copy and paste the given code on your page like I just did. Why not check it out?

Here is a nice quote about not giving up.

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly

I like the above mug with quote. It is also available on a color magnet with quote. Very nice to be reminded not to give up when one looks at the fridge or when having a drink.

Here is a mug with sayings that I like. This time it is a Shakespearean Love Mug. The mug is full of quotes and sayings about love. Quote lovers will surely love to drink from this. If I offer it to my house guest to drink from, I am sure my guest will be more interested in reading all the quotes than drinking the drink served. It is also perfect to drink with while thinking about your loved one or better still as a gift to your loved one. That will get him or her thinking about you whenever they drink from the mug.
Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, Today is a Gift.
I love this quote. It means forget the past, don't worry about tomorrow and live today to the fullest. Definitely good advise. This mug with quote is perfect for drinking coffee while pondering about life.

It's Not the Years in Your Life that Counts, It's the Life in Your Years!
This quote about life can be found on a mug with sayings.

Mugs with Quotes on them is a good way of expressing your love for quotes and surrounding yourself with positive sayings. It is also lovely as a gift.

The other day I asked my kids, what is a friend? Here is what they said. I asked them to complete this sentence.

"A friend is someone who..........."

The 7 year old boy said:

A friend is someone who will pull you up, when you fall down.

The 9 year old girl said:

A friend is someone who will always laugh and chit chat with you.

That is very true isn't it? I don't think the boy meant to say it as a quote. He meant it literally, ie. when you fall down, your friend will pull you up but that is very true. A friend will always be there for you, to laugh at your silly jokes, be your companion and someone you can talk to and be there to pick you up when you fall. Friendship bracelets make the perfect gift for a dear friend.

Anyone, who has children should do this exercise. Ask them what they think a friend is. Next, I will ask my kids what they think love is. :)

What is a quote's blog without my favourite poem of all time. Desiderata by Max Ehrmann written in 1927

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

I received this as part of an email today. I think it is really beautiful and should be shared with all women, so here it is. Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her 'beauty tips.'  It was read at her funeral years later.

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

Finally, quote #12 in the Quotes for Life series. Here it is...

"Keep busy at something. A busy person never has time to be unhappy."

This is a simple thing to do. There are so many things to learn in this world. I have 101 things to do in my "To Do List". As for My "To Learn List", well, I have even more.

I want to learn to bake, to sew, to sing, to dance, to blog better, to create better squidoo lenses, to write better, to speak and write Chinese, music theory, etc. My list is very long indeed. What about yours? Pin It

This is #11 in the series of Quotes for life.

"Do what you can for those less fortunate than yourself".

There is this little donation box and the supermarket where we shop. Each week, we would let the kids put in a little money to donate to those who are less fortunate. We explained to the kids that there are many children out there who are less fortunate than them.

Although our donation may not be much, we try to do it on a weekly basis. It feels nice and at the same time it is a lesson to the kids too. At the same time, they do enjoy putting in notes into the donation slot.

We may not contribute a lot but a little from everyone goes a long way.

Donation need not only come in monetary form. You can donate your time as well. :) Pin It

I have 3 more quotes on life to share but I have been taking my time haven't I? Anyway, here is #10 at last...

#10 Quotes on Life - Don't hold post mortems. Don't spend your time brooding over sorrow or mistakes. Don't be the one who never gets over things.

In other words, move on!

I hope I can do so too. I hope I can move on from my recent troubles. Our life has been stalled by a spate of troubling affairs but it is time to move on now.

It is time to put them behind us and move on.

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but simply moving on with dignity despite that fear." - Pat Riley
